ARTIST STATEMENT
Painting is my passion, is what I always wanted to do
since I was a little child.
It all started many many years ago when my father
offered me a box with paints and brushes…
Since then, “Color is my day-long obsession, joy and
torment” as Monet once said!!
My themes are frequently inspired by the astonishing
Cycladic light,
and by anything that provokes emotions or memories.
I’m seeking beauty everywhere, even where it seems at
first not to be.
Behind the images there is always a hidden story,
meaning, or purpose,
which the viewer is called to find out or, even better
discover his own.
I like to play with lights and darks, textures and
compositional elements.
I often experiment with all kind of media, exploring
new sensations from the materials.
Creativity is part of my everyday life.
Some say that my work… “Stands out for its sense of
color, its powerful
brushstrokes and its particular composition.”
I love teaching and one of my life purposes is to help
as many people as I can to express themselves in a creative way.
My journey as a professional artist started back in
1982 just after my studies
in Paris (Fine arts,
Graphic Design and Decoration).
